Hello and welcome to AlternateSam.com. I hope to be able to provide some entertainment if not for you, then at least for myself. This site is mainly for the discussion of modern Japanese visual arts anime and other random stuff. You might have seen me roaming around random blogs under the alias of ‘deadbeat’, which isn’t that surprising considering how much money ‘investment’ I have made on anime merchandise.
Schedule:
AlternateSam.com is by a single person so please forgive that person for being too unreliable. He will be whipped when he can actually be found so don’t worry about it. Plans are now being drawn to tie him down to release more posts.
Photos & Files:
Any photo posted is an original if it comes with the AlternateSam.com watermark unless stated otherwise. Feel free to download/share them but shame on you if you passed some crappy pictures as your own. If you want to post them elsewhere go ahead, but please upload it somewhere else instead of using my bandwidth. I do not really mind if you did not quote your source but it’s a bonus if you do.
I will also occasionally upload music directly related to the topics I’m writing about. Contact me if you have any specific music related uploads you want me to do although I do not promise I will be able to do it, especially if I do not have the song already. Links will generally be at the bottom of the post and the entire post will be categorized as music as well.
If there is anything you wish to directly email me about, it’s at contact AT alternatesam DOT com. Alternatively, you can use the “Contact Me” form located above.

I’d choose Alter. It’s a little smaller (1/8 scale as compared to the 1/6 Kotobukiya) meaning it’s cheaper too. I don’t care much about the accessories, but that’s just me. Plus, the Alter pose is much more badass. Check out the ABS! ^^
Go for Kotobukiya if you like a “softer” or cuter Yoko, or can’t resist the accessories.
And I realize this post is kinda late. Haha. Gomen. Anyways, both are due out soon. Good luck! And sweet Yoko Nendo, BTW.
I hate you so much…all of the website I go to are sold out of these.
I don’t collect these figures but I want this one so bad. :B

Its pretty well made and I’m not surprised it sold out. Most people I know took it when it was out for pre-order as we knew getting it on retail will be quite impossible. Try searching at ebay, you’ll never know what you’ll find
All the best in your search!
If no one has taken the Kamina, I might be interested :>
i know i want her so bad she awesome
i looooooooooooooooooooooove it
*Chuckles* No need to hide who you are completely. If there is occasion in the normal course of conversation, you can allude to an anime or game reference (kind of like dangling a bait hook). If they don’t bite, then move on to another subject. *Shrugs* It’s obvious that blurting obsessively about anything another person isn’t interested in will weird him or her out. The key to any conversation is to leave out bait hooks of all sorts of possible interests the other person might have. If they bite on one of them, then give them a chance to express themselves and open up a little bit and respond accordingly. If NOTHING you bring up is catching, then it’s clear you have nothing in common at all… except maybe the weather. XD

I agree, but it might be kinda hard to be the first one to ‘pull the trigger’ so as to speak. Fortunately, I do have a wide range of interests so I usually end up discussing the news or sports or anime or games or something. Which is a relief as nothing kills tension & awkwardness faster than a 2-way conversation.
The article was half written in jest if I might add. Something I thought up as I was meeting a few new people that day.
And yes, the weather is the ultimate fall-back when nothing else works
wierd but I come across this blog looking for small other things. probably means that this page has visibility for a keyword that actually doesn’t seem to be appropriate to the content I’m reading in your blog

Yes, this post does get a very disproportionate amount of hits. I’m going with the theory that its due to the word “loli” being used a few times in it. Never underestimate the pedobears on the interweb! ^_^
Hi
Is there something malfunctioning with your blog or with my Internet Explorer? I keep clicking on the subscribe button and I get some strange code from the web browser. The feed content shows many strange characters and it looks messy. Maybe it’s from the new module I set up to get the subscription feeds into a custom way. Frustrating, never the less.
See You!

Hmm, I tried using Firefox (the latest version and before) to subscribe via the RSS feed and it works. Could it be on your side?
IE 8 works fine as well. Maybe its your settings?
lol I did , like you did too .
I naturally avoid talking Otaku related stuff with normal people but once I found an anime lover , I’l’ start talking to him / her and slowly talks on otaku Topics

True but anime-lovers are very over-rated nowadays [Cue fanboys spewing over K-On! / Haruhi / Random flavor of the season]
I tend to find it very hard to go in depth into a discussion about otaku-stuff unless I know the person pretty well and we have had prior conversations before.
I’ve got figures spread out across my desk at work. So even if people don’t like it, they have no choice but to accept it.
Personally I’m in the “Otaku and Proud” group. Although I’m also the type that doesn’t care what other people think of me. If they automatically think all otaku are strange then I have no interest in socializing with them anyway.
I’ll live the way I want and enjoy every bit of it.

I guess all it boils down to is a choice of lifestyle. Personally, I don’t really like getting judged based on something like my interest/hobby especially if I’m just getting to know the other party or we are just acquaintance.
I know some people who think that all otaku are strange and while I might not agree with them, I still do find them interesting enough to want to know them better. Its just 1 facet of a person and I don’t really want it to be that big an issue.
Its like that guro/loli hentai that you have on your computer/under your bed for example. No matter how good it is, you just don’t go around showing it to everyone. Its sort of like that.
I am so proud of him for speaking up! I wonder if a fan told him about this? I kinda lol’d at pregnant with meaning, man he writes better english than I do.

Actually, he wrote that in Japanese. Tsurupeta.info was the one who translated it into english.
Nice letter nonetheless. It makes me glad that someone in a position to do so actually bothered to write something in response to such high-handed behavior from a western press.
Hey! I enjoy your site but I’m having trouble getting it to show right in the Camino browser. You might want to recheck your stylesheets. Word!

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I just tried displaying the site on Chrome, FF, Safari as well as IE (from 7 onwards) and they all looked fine to me. I then turned to Google to look for a solution and here’s what I found =>
————————-
website scripting problems:
I’m afraid not much can be done about this. The modern web is just not tailored to old(er) hardware and older browser rendering engines (the version of Gecko used by Camino 1.6.x) is quite a few years old.
If a hardware and/or OS upgrade is not possible, then there is not so much that can be done anymore. You could try disabling Javascript (Preferences > Web Features), but that will probably render a number of sites equally hard to use or dysfunctional. You could also give Opera 10 a try. That is the only browser with a more modern rendering & scripting engine that is more adequate to the modern web, and it runs on 10.3.9.

More details of that discussion here.
Thank you so much for your blog…

How to do you block these posts? I would like to just view status updates not “I need a cow for my farm and Johnny just got done cleaning his fish bowl”.
Aw, this was a surely excellent publish. In theory I’d love to compose like this also – getting time and genuine effort to generate a good quality article..
. but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and in no way seem to have something completed.
